Co-founder M.J. Hartwig once called this joint “a two-bit operation” in a conversation we had about our one year anniversary.

Now, It’s a two-bit operation that looks like it has moved into the 21st Century.  We’re happy to be a part of the RantSports.com blog network and are even more happy to know that you, our faithful and loyal reader, have followed us here.   We don’t like making promises, but we’re pretty sure this will be our final move.

The Big Dead Sidebar is a Chicago sports and SIU Salukis blog co-founded by a pair of former Daily Egyptian sports writers.  For those of you who are not familiar with the DE, it is the student newspaper of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

Here at TBDS, we break down the Cubs, Sox, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks and our beloved alma mater with a different twist.  To go along with our gimmick posts, such as The Dirty 30 Chronicles and Mocking The NBA Draft, the staff of TBDS analyzes the sports scene like no other by focusing on some of the little things the big guys might not catch.
